As Heroesand Smallville are reaching the end of their runs, there isn’t a lot of superhero’s to be found on TV. At least not non-animated super heroes. But England has some new superhero shows and the US is getting a few new ones as well. Let’s take a look at these.
Apparently England is the place to live if you want to see a bunch of superhero shows. Currently running are No Heroics, Misfits, and a new one is coming along Orphans. No Heroics tried jumping the ocean, but it didn’t make it past the pilot in the US. Speaking of the US, two new ones possibly coming along are The Cape and No Ordinary Family.
Starting with England, No Heroics is a sitcom about off duty superheros (kinda sounds like Hero Happy Hour). Reviews seemed to be mixed and it has not been brought back for a second season yet.
Misfits seems to be more a cross between a WB teen show and X-Men. The show follows a group of teens who receive super powers and have to deal with it. It received generally good reviews, but again no second season yet.
Orphans hasn’t been released yet and little is known about it.
And back to the US, The Cape follows a police officer who is trying to clear his name by donning a superhero costume. This Batman meets The Fugitive show is currently in pilot, and has been picked up by NBC.
No Ordinary Family is more of a family drama about a family that has super powers (yes like The Incredibles). A pilot has been shot and the show has been picked up by ABC.
